Gonna flex on Switch Lite owners by detaching my Joy-Cons.

I understand peoples concerns with non tv compatibility. However it is so much cheaper for people who can't afford a normal switch, as well as better replacement for what the PS Vita should have been. The only concern I have with the game is proping it up. Personally I would still like to be able to prop up the switch while using joycons with friends to form a tablet mode. Aside from this im very excited for this device.

You’re expecting the switch lite to have all the features that the original one has. It’s a switch LITE. It’s not supposed to be an upgrade. It’s a cheaper, more portable version. Also, it wouldn’t make sense if it was dockable since it’s targeted at people who want a more portable system.

Shocking that the cheaper product doesn't have all of the features of the more expensive one

I think it's stupit to come out with another switch why can't Nintendo give us a update on the switch that we already have to make it better

The Wii U deserves more respect and love. Still playing mine and loving it. I'm sure people are enjoying all the Wii U ported games on the Switch lol.

Personally, I hate the Switch Lite, but it's probably going to succeed with younger kids.

For all the people saying the lite is for kids that's just plain a stupid statement... the regular switch is also for kids .. the lite is more for minimalistic people..stop saying it's for kids .. just hating on the lite .. because it is more powerful and better than the regular w your stock w 😂😂

Gonna agree with you on the lack of features compared to price point. It's $100 less but there is more to buy down the road if you want those features. I can see the price coming down hard on the Switch Lite as the holidays approach because I think the portable only hold outs still using the 3DS will wait for the price to fall before adopting the Switch Lite.

Here is the problem - Switch was meant to unite the portable and "big-screen" experiences. Now, you will have portable only "Switch Lite" and docked-only "Switch Pro". Each of them will have their limitations (no HD rumble on Lite, no touchscreen on Pro). What you will get? Two consoles again! Each of them with its own games that are not compatible with the other one (see PS Vita vs. PS TV). I hope that they will not break the main ethos of Switch – the one that gave the console its name. I like my Switch, how it is. I would love to have an upgraded version, either lighter or with more battery life, but not at the price of losing the versatility of the original.

definitely not, switch lite is a backwards system, even just a HDMI port would have helped(I have a fairly cheap android based one that can do that),the only good thing about this system is the D-pad.thats it, as for price? $200 for a handheld?-one that might cost you extra depending on what games you want to play(cant share a joycon unless you buy a new one!?)..and the thing cant even stand on its on sakes".I'll just buy a second hand switch for near the same price.

This thing is obviously not meant for people who have a switch already so calling it a downgrade is dumb it’s not for you if you have a switch its for other less fortunate gamers or just people who want a deeper handheld switch experience

You can use controller peripherals in handheld mode if you have the right connector and the switch lite appears to have a usb c port (like on a normal switch) so the same method might work.

It's not supposed to be controversial, it's really easy to understand this is not an upgrade and is not meant to be an upgrade and it's not targeting current switch users, this is specifically targeting 3DS type users to get them into the switch library of games and nothing else. If current switch users also buy it great. There will be an upgraded switch coming later sometime next year and for the people who need to play on your TV that's the one you waiting for. I think people are just getting bent out of shape because they wanted an upgrade version now. It's laughable to think people are upset because a portable system that's even more portable than the original cannot be played on a TV, it's not targeting TV users LOL.

There’s still the original Switch, so people still have options. I will pick a Switch Lite for sure. It looks absolutely amazing and it suits my needs perfectly! Cheers

I just hope that the analog sticks don't suffer from drift like the normal joy con's, because you can't just buy new joy con's and replacing the sticks on them is already difficult. That's my only concern with the switch lite

The joycons are already expensive, around $70. Wow

Being completely honest here, I'm interested in the Switch Lite for only 2 reasons; the D-Pad and longer battery life. The D-Pad because, no matter the game, I tend to find myself navigating menu's and such with that D-Pad. And I play a lot of 2D, old-school-style and RPG games so almost all myt games I do this in. Oh, and especially Tetris 99, where the JoyCon's are USELESS to play with. And the longer battery life because I've found myself playing in Handheld mode more than I thought I would and if the Lite can easily transfer data with the OG Switch like Doug Bowser hinted towards, then I'd be fine with having a Switch Lite on the go for that longer battery life.
