        Hmmm!!!

You're missing that his shooting arm, is forming and in the arc, that carries the ball, in alignment to the basket. You merely shoot, like its in an imaginery tube...pushing the ball up thru this tube. So that you don't really have to look at the basket.

In addition....to match the backspin on the ball, with the forward motion of the ball. So it's a softshot! That even if hour short or long....its soft, and merely lays on the rim!

Aka...Jerry West...tjat everything is in alignment, and packaged to move thru this imaginary tube!!

That after its released...then you can look up as its in flight. To know it's in its perfect [email protected]

the only way you can shoot like a player is to train like the player. I dont mean the way the player shoots because not everybody is comfortable with it but how he trains/ practices.

The more I look at it the more I learnt, been looking at it for like a year, the motion he jumps ( knees goes in front, back is straight, his body is only slightly tilted while he catches the ball, but the started turning as he pull up, cuz the ball will goes to his right eye a bit and this is to maintain the straight line

Just because he's a phenomenal shooter, it doesn't mean every element of his shot is contributing to his success. The visual tracking of the ball on the release, for example, might be taking away some efficiency. You can't tell unless he does something else--like the more prevalent locking on the basket, so the ball disappears from view at the apex, and only returns to the eyeline as it approaches the rim--thousands of times, and compare the two options.

Anecdotally, the keeping the eyes locked on the target throughout the shot has always been a basic element I go back to when my shot is errant, and asking other players what they're looking at, then suggesting they practice fixing eyes on the target throughout, has almost invariably brought immediate improvements in accuracy.

And while he's so well known it perhaps goes without saying, let's repeat: Steph Curry's natural talents include otherworldly hand-eye coordination. He's put in a great deal of work, to be sure, but something as small as that head tilt on the release may or may not ruin the shot of a lesser talent. We don't know, because we need huge, controlled samples of different approaches. We can, however, marvel at what he's doing, and note that some of it may not be for a player without the outlandish gifts.

                          Thanks for the video.

I follow the ball with my eyes because depending on where I'm shooting, I know if it's good or not just by the way the ball is aligned to the rim and how high the balls trajectory is. After shooting thousands of times a day. And seeing the ball hitting that exact same rotation speed and trajectory. U just know if that's shit either falling or not while it's still in the air. That's why he celebrates before it goes in on the regular. Cuase he knows exactly how it looks on the situational basis.

This is where I'm lost. I shoot upper 20 footers with the ball held out and above my head. I don't bring the ball back into my body. I can literally just push forward and get the ball to the rim with ease. And these NBA athletes are way more fit than I am. I like taking super long shots as you see in this link, but my STRONGEST percentage is the upper 20 foot range. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zKPCvtOOhw&list=PLdnuLpMCJ8dCee_wtkSKhzhYLZaDVQfaf&index=2&t=0s

Body mechanics is NOT Steph shooting secret.
The further you are from the ring, the bigger discrepancy. Just like a sniper who uses a measurement gauge within the telescope. 1mm of discrepancy and you will miss the target. So even if you identically have the body mechanics in the right order, exactly as Steph.... it is no benefit if you don't know the "PINPOINT"

And finding the pinpoint can not be explained, but can only be experienced by the shooter. Once you find the pinpoint, it is then locking it into muscle memory. In order to find the pinpoint, you need to have a high degree of body awareness; how much strength to give, the angle and arc, speed, body positions, etc... to replicate the same successful shot. The initial phase are the body awareness until success, then repetition to lock in the muscle memory, and then it moves into unconscious automation.

And it's what separates "Natural Talent" versus "Nurtured Skill". One person may take 10hrs of practice, while another person takes less practice to learn the skills.
