Flint didn’t ignore the water they tried to become independent of Detroit and the new pipes went bad immediately because the water was to corrosive. I know your job is to give your opinion but understand the issue before you give it please

Considering alcohol has to be at least 80 proof to be flammable, there must be some seriously strong shit in that water for it to catch fire because that water is somewhat “filtered” so like 5% of whatever the fuck is in it is enough to ignite it vs the 40% needed for alcohol.

Because capitalism Elon musk saw the environment problems and decided to build cars with batteries on them to help the planet. He was allowed to do this because of capitalism. Capitalism is a very good thing

A passing thought hearing this, and something I've often used to describe a general lack of understanding is that, we're using outdated software when it comes to governing ourselves. And also on many other levels of our lives. We need an overhaul or reworking of the rules and regulations created hundreds of years ago to control people.

Through the high pressure of fracking, methane gets into the ground water. There are no chemicals causing the water to burn. Only simple methane. It's completely harmless.

Society structure was formed before the Advent of modern technology Hydroponics skyscrapers and tapping the water table could feed the world. That's why the the automobile industry bought up all the trolley patents and destroy that s***. And yet they did it so they could have money to better their future and feed their family

Research is done either to maximize profits or to make prophet for the financier. Poverty is a man-made problem, we could have skyscrapers right now with hydroponic systems set up to grow food for the world's hungry. Nonstop. 24/7, 365 days a year... But where's the profit in that?? Where's the monetary profit rather. Of course people would profit off of it but not financially so it doesn't get done. It's a dog eat dog world because the big dog named government is chasing you down trying to take a bite out of your ass forcing you into a kill-or-be-killed situation.

"The wealthiest nation on Earth is unable to provide water to its citizens. The government's duty is to provide Basic human rights freedom of speech the right to privacy and clean water. If third world nations are able to provide clean water id say this is an example of the failure of the American empire."

First, the 'wealthiest Nation on Earth is unable to provide water to its citizens.'  Most Americans have access to water though pointing out the few failures does not mean the American experiment should be graded less than third world nations.  Also, it is not the job of the Feds to supply everyone with water.  Water is a service provided by local municipalities which charge the end users in the form of taxes for providing this service.  Now consider rural homes, they must provide their own access to water through wells, aquifers, etc. if they expect to have a reliable safe supply of water.  The 'Nation' is not responsible for ensuring all homes have access to water.  Its misguided to claim its the nations responsibility to ensure everyone has access to water.

Which takes us to the erroneous proposition that individuals have a 'right' to water, a right that must be provided by the government.  Rights are not granted by the government, such as freedom of speech, freedom of association, they are protected by the government, secured, enshrined, honoured, sheltered from government overreach.  These rights exist whether you exist under a government or not, America just codified the reality that they exist and are not to be usurped.  A service is not akin to a right.

The state of Michigan (run by a republican governor in 2011) took over Flint’s finances. (AKA emergency managers appointed by the Governor) It was decided to cut cost by building a new pipeline, in 2014, to Lake Huron. The city council recommended the state treasurer to authorize the use of old, iron pipes, that connected to the flint river, to sustain the city while the pipeline to Lake Huron was under construction.

Both State and City officials are to blame, the flint water crisis isn’t a partisan issue. However, the state was very slow to respond to the issue in Flint. January 2015 there was reporting from Detroit Free Press of children developing rashes and suffering mysterious illnesses. On September 11, 2015 Virginia Tech determined the water was not safe for cooking or drinking. On October 8, 2015, Governor Snyder announced the city would no longer use flint river water. Finally, January 5, 2016 Gov. Snyder declares a state of emergency.

This is an issue of mismanagement, greed, negligence, and incompetence, not political ideology. If anything, the state was at fault for the negligence and incompetence of the situation in flint.
