Intel Core i9 9900k is 489 Euro, not USD. it is about 550 dollar. And AMD Ryzen 3900X is 399 dollar.

you try to give AMD the advantage, by using 3400 speed memory vs 3600(3733)?

I'm a gamer but I'll be buying an AMD chip, I'm going to support AMD based products to help build competition for better value later on down the line (I hope). Good vid, well done. I've been a Gigabyte & Intel fan for years but have been disappointed of late, two bad G1.Sniper 5 boards and Ram issues, I'm hoping they disappear with AMD based Mobo/APU setups. cheers and all the best

                                Stefano S  24 hours back

@Chris Benn it depends on your platform, if you check Ryzen 1st gen usually the max memory supported speed is 2666mhz, 3200mhz is listed as OC on the motherboard tech sheet (just look at Crosshair VI hero for example).
You'll be fine with 3600mhz, just make sure your mobo supports that speed (all of them should AFAIK).

Is it? Why? If I buy 3600mhz RAM they are not overclocked!

Yes, that means everything above 3200mhz is technically considered overclock but you will have no problem using the 3600 profile in the bios.

For video editing, just buy a gaming desktop, not a laptop. For streaming, ryzen is better because of more cores. For raw gaming, i9 9900k is still in the lead.

Vulkan is already doing amazing things on AMD hardware. The rest could use improvement for sure. I think we're seeing a shift in the minds of developers though. With the selection of really good APIs, graphics engines, and hardware combos we're getting these days it's not so one sided anymore. AMD is now making all of the chips in Xbox and Playstation consoles.

Microsoft and AMD are working together on the next Xbox. I would be willing to bet that the next version of Windows will have better gaming optimization for AMD chips as a direct result, on the GPU side AMD has had issues with drivers in the past but now it does not take them long to release updated drivers that work well. When they release a new card it always takes some time to get the drivers working well.

Is the 9700k no hyperthreading better than it's predecessor the 8700k with hyperthreading when it comes to gaming for now and in the future. Which is the better CPU ?

What If games start to use hyperthreading in the future like they may do..Maybe then the 8700k would have been the better cpu...Time will reveal all.

Hyperthreads are not real cores... I upgraded from Pentiun G4560 that is 2 core 4 thread (hyperthreaded) to an i3-8100 which is 4 core /4 thread... It's a huge difference.. Same thing goes here

                                                    Hey.
I also like PC and it's stuff
                                                    I tried 9900k and 3950x.
But Intel is still better than AMD as the frame rate was equal but the main difference I got in was the Temperature Intel was 7° cooler than AMD. BTW love your videos.😘

If you don't have different cooler it may happen.
But. I used Cooler master Master Air maker 8 on both CPU.

Killer Ace I’m no pc enthusiast but maybe the intel cooler you used is significantly better than the 3950x stock cooler, resulting in a temperature difference

I'll be interested to see how this plays out with the 3950X. Though that said, if you are running first gen Ryzen, something along the lines of the 2700X would be a real sweet spot.

I like to point out that PCIe 4.0 dose sound new and cool. However NVIDIA dose not have a RTX graphic card that will run on PCIe 4.0. However NVME PCIe 4.0 can be used. I will simply stick with my gaming notebook that got i9-9900K and RTX 2070 its going to take 20 years to make video games that will work on PCIe 4.0 graphic card if NVIDIA dose make one. right now NVIDIA only support PCIe 3.0

I'll be practical. yes intel is good for gaming. gives you a lot of fps but a human eye can only see 60fps. higher fps than 75 doesnt save you or win the game. but rendering faster, compressing, encrypting, compiling... amd will save you a lot of time for a cheaper price.
