I will have you know! Pork rinds are popular in the south! I ate them a few times and they are OK. You have eaten worse things like durian fruit, sheep testicles, and insects. Don't be all snobbish about pork rinds. They are high in protein (as far as junk food is concerned,) and encourage the production of the lepton hormone.

The hate for pork rinds is unreal man. Though I guess plenty of people in Canada hate them too.

so just because it's pork it's a bacon snack? why not give them pork vienna sausages too while you're at it? cracklins/chicharrones/pork rinds are not a bacon snack unless it's bacon flavored.

I was just at my local Plaid Pantry convenience store, and they had all 4 of these things. While the Pork Rinds are by Frito Lay and you can get them all over, the other two are more obscure. So this leads me to believe that the person who sent this in lives near me.

Are you kidding me you can eat the flesh of the pig (bacon, pork loin, pork chop, … etc), but not the skin. People suck it up it is not that horrible I love cracklins as they use to call it when I was a kid. Piping hot with just a little bit of salt and if you were feeling adventurous vinegar. YUM :)

If they'd been called pork cracklings or something like that I'm sure folks would have liked them a lot more. They got way to hung up on the idea it was the skin of the pig.
